Writing good essays can feel like a complicated task. Remember this: a good essay is made up of good paragraphs, and good paragraphs result from strong sentences effectively put together. Once you've written a rough draft, plan to revise your essay at least two or three times. On your first revision, focus on individual paragraphs. Does each sentence contribute to the topic of the paragraph? Is each sentence complete? Are there sentences that have too many words, making them confusing or clumsy? By concentrating on one paragraph at a time, the task of revision won't seem so overwhelming.
