Surviving Denali
Denali National Park is home to the tallest mountain in the United States, Mt. McKinley. Surviving Denali is a PBS feature about a medical expedition that treated sick and injured climbers at an altitude of 14,200 feet. Read dispatches and virtually climb the mountain with photos and film clips.
The kids section of the site tells you that a climber's diet includes granola, dried fruit, bagels, trail mix and even macaroni and cheese. It also offers information about survival skills and climber lingo.
