Censored: Wielding the Red Pen takes surfers on a historical tour of censorship in America. Chronicling the suppression of various books, music and films, the exhibit's creators ask viewers to consider their own definition of censorship in light of past acts of wielding the red pen.
The site's curators write "Every day some form of censorship occurs in the United States. This prevalence of the red pen in a country founded on the Bill of Rights suggests that most people consider some things or ideas too dangerous or offensive to be made widely available."
